I love winter.  And when time allows, I try to get out west, do some photography in the mountains, and strap a snowboard to my feet.  When those things happen on the same day, it is bound to be a great day.  This year a friend and I went to Fernie, then to Kicking Horse in Golden, BC, where the sun came out and a magnificent day was had.   It is a completely different environment, where all our usual thoughts are overshadowed by the scale of things.  It always humbles, yet uplifts.  Any experience that does both, is bound to be a good influence, and get to the heart of what we call re-creation.
