J.J.- Jasmine Junior- was a part of a litter of seven little ones.  She seemed to be first among the seven to do most all things.  I would poke my head close to their ‘nest’ to see how they were all doing, and only JJ would come walking out, a bit wobbly, and fearlessly walk all over me.  After a certain amount of finger chewing, wrestling with my hand, and petting, I would set her down facing her mother and siblings, and she would walk straight back into the fold.  This was a priceless part of my daily routine for a week […]

The Bruce Peninsula, from Georgian Bay.

Ontario, Canada in such an amazing place. Within a few hour’s drive we can be in exotic environments that feel like they are a world away from our own .  The Bruce Peninsula is one of those gems. Crystal-clear (although cold) water, limestone cliffs, and centuries-old cedar trees (discovered by Pete) makes a trip here a true “change in scenery”- both physical and mental.

Unidentified Driving Object, somewhere in Pennsylvania.

How do you drive a car and take this photo at the same time????   A camera (of course), a tripod, a stop watch, and an old car, where the headlights do not come on automatically.   And steer carefully, so as to not run over your expensive camera. That’s all I’m saying.

Glowing Tent, Northern Georgian Bay, Ontario.

I had always seen night photos of ‘glowing’ tents in various publications, and wanted to do a few of my own. So I repaired my camping lantern (carburetor cleaner was the secret, by the way), and incorporated the plan into a camping trip.  And I didn’t burn down the tent!
