We were hiking back from an outing on the Western Brook Boat Tour- a must-do for any trip to the west coast of Newfoundland- when I looked back from this spot towards Western Brook Pond. The evening light and the mood were just magical, and I could see the finished image in my mind. I love landscapes with an element of the man-made (and woman-made) world in it. Somehow the image becomes a narrative or a story, about our relationship to nature. I was completely out of film, good thing my friend Billy had a spare roll of Agfa 100 he could lend me. I might still owe him that roll.
